El Camino de Emaus
“El Camino” means “the Way.” For us, this means walking in the way of the Risen Christ as we seek to give God’s grace a human face in the multifaceted context in
the Latino community of the Skagit Valley. El Camino began as a mission start faith community in 2007 and is now a Congregation Under Development in the NW Washington synod.
Part of our mission is to reach out to our sister church congregations with the invitation to walk with us as we seek to empower Latino Lutheran leaders in our work of Word and Sacrament ministry, lively youth and family education, advocacy for human rights as well as service to the poor in our immigrant context. And then of course there are fiestas. We can never have enough of those. Come walk with us!
Mission Statement
Walking in solidarity with the poor, we are called to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ in Word and Sacrament and service. In the power of the Risen Christ, we are a multicultural expression of God’s love lived out in the Latino community of the Skagit Valley.
